PLANES
Volotea will have 34 aircraft this year, including Airbus A319 and Boeing 717. Both models are known for their comfort and safety, and Volotea offers reclining seats in rows 5% wider than the average airline. It is expected that most of the flights scheduled in 2019 will be operated by Airbus A319 aircraft.
The Boeing 717 is equipped with Rolls-Royce engines, and is famous for its comfort and safety. Boeing 717 is a reliable 125-seat airplane and offers a high level of comfort thanks to its five seats per row.
Additionally, the A319 allows Volotea to operate longer routes and penetrate new markets. While the Boeing 717 has an autonomy that allows it to travel 2500 km, the Airbus A319 reaches 3500 km.
Volotea is confident of operating exclusively with Airbus in the coming years. This strategic decision allows the company to increase its passenger capacity by 25%, from 125 seats to 156 in its aircraft.
QUALITY AND SAFETY
Volotea has renewed the IOSA (International Operational Audit Safety Program ), granted by the International Air Transport Association (IATA) until 2019.
The IOSA program evaluates the operational management and control systems of airlines, ensuring compliance with approximately 940 requirements and recommended practices in safety and operational quality.
Volotea renews the IOSA quality registry granted last year by IATA (International Air Transport Association), a leader in international safety audits that represents a benchmark in the airline industry.
Created in 2001, the IOSA program reviews, among other areas, flight control, cargo operations and passenger cabin operations. IOSA has become a global standard, recognized beyond the scope of IATA. The total percentage of accidents by IOSA airlines has been 3.3 times less than the percentage of airlines that do not have the IATA quality certificate.
